Abstract
The genetic algorithms (GAs) is a search procedure based on the struggle for survival among things by law of natural selection, and it brings together natural analogues, mathematical analysis, and computer techniques. The GAs exploits massively parallel architectures, so it can efficiently select the computer points with good performance and delete the other points in each generation. Consequently, the GAs provides a new route toward an understanding of artificial intelligent and adaptive of the investigating system. In this paper, the GAs is introduced and verified its robustness through searching the optimal value of a multiple peak function. Then, the GAs is applied to search the optimal parameter set of the operating rules in a flood control expert system. The results show that the genetic algorithms can be successfully and efficiently solved the parameter estimation and control problem in the water resource expert systems.
