Abstract
Recently, the traditional manufacturing methods has been increasingly substituted by the technique of VARTM in the large FRP structure.
Nowadays since the sandwich structure is used quite often in the boat-hull to add structure stiffness, this study is to investigate the infusion of resin in the sandwich structure and the impregnation in fibrous material by a resin flow. After understanding the infusion process, the permeability parameters could be established and by using the simulation software (RTM-Worx) could forecast the actual ship-building condition accurately before infusing a ship.
If we thorough comprehend the SCRIMP process of sandwich infusion, then we could find out the optimal injection strategies by using the resin flow simulation software (RTM-Worx) and make the resin infusion of yacht much efficiently and succesfully. Finally, to apply the SCRIMP process widely, and to improve the competitive ability of the ship-building industry.
