Abstract
Reciprocity theorem is applied to derive a method to compensate for the coupling effects in a
linear dipole array, hence improving the accuracy of estimating the direction-of-arrival of the
incident wave. The receiving voltages after compensation are input to the estimation of signal
parameter via rotational invariance technique (ESPRIT) for direction estimation. Different
compensation methods in the literatures have been compared to verify the effectiveness of
this method, and multiple incident waves of both uncorrelated and coherent characteristics
are simulated.
