Abstract
Motor with continuously variable transmission (CVT) can evaluate the efficiency of electric motorcycle, but CVT at present is designed in accordance with engine. If CVT was applied to motorcycle, it must be adjusted appropriately to become optimum state. The purpose of this study is to figure out the influence on an electric motorcycle by torque cam and pulley balls while different traffic patterns. First, the model of torque cam and pulley balls which belong to rubbed CVT has been developed in this study, with the model of vehicle resistance and the performance curve of motor. Then adding three types of traffic patterns separately, the parameters of torque cam and pulley balls affecting on the driving are analyzed numerically. Finally, concerning the performance of a motor and the characteristic of all parameters, the better way to setting torque cam and pulley balls are discussed and verified by ECE40 simulation. The results of this analysis could be useful to understand the major effects of the design parameters in different traffic patterns and helpful for further design of torque cam and pulley balls.
