《詩經》在日本之流傳與詮釋

The Book of Odes being one of the most important Classics, has been constantly
discussed and interpreted by centuries of scholars. Its great influence in the academia
includes politics, philosophy, literature etc. The Book of Odes is introduced into Korea, then
into Japan, and has been viewed with great importance in Japan. How has the doctrine of the
Book of Odes spread in Japan? How is it interpreted by the Japanese scholars? What
influence does the Book of Odes have on Japan? These are some of the issues worthy of our
discussion.
This research attempts to conduct an in-depth study of the effects and the
interpretations of the Book of Odes in Japan. First of all, we will discuss the circulation of
the Book of Odes in Japan, and the volumes of its records and publications withstanding or
perishing, related to the annotations, interpretations, and discussions. Next, we will discuss
the interpretations of the Japanese scholars on the Book of Odes and its changes in the
historical context. We will go on to discuss the influence of the interpretations of the Book of
Odes by the Japanese scholars on the aspects of politics, philosophy, literature etc.
If we can gain much success with this project, we hope to continue with the research
on the spread of Book of Odes and its interpretations to Korea. Hence, we will be able to
analyze the interpretations of the Book of Odes in China, Japan, and Korea in a historical
perspective ultimately, so as to construct an aspect of the history of the Book of Odes in East
Asia.
