Abstract
A 51-year-old female had first episode of sudden deafness in her left ear in July, 1996. Audiometry revealed left sensorineural hearing loss with pure tone average of 78dB. After treatment, her hearing recovered slightly. Unfortunately, second episode occurred 5 months later, resulting in total deafness in her left ear, and remained this level despite aggressive treatment.
