Abstract
Since Taiwan has officially become an“aging societies”.Aging societies had brought lots of problems and issues in elderly people. The purpose of this study was to investigated the relationship between leisure and successful aging for elderly. Stratified random sampling was used to collect data from 2864 elders. We used one-way ANOVA , Pearson’s product-moment correlation, hierarchical regression and path analysis to analyze the hypotheses and attain the purposes of this study. ur results indicate that controlling population variables, Institutional activities of daily living (IADL) is a strong and positive predictor of leisure activity, social support, mental health and life satisfaction. The recreational leisure activity is a strong and positive predictor of emotional social support, mental health and life satisfaction. The physical leisure activity is a strong and positive predictor of life satisfaction. This study concludes that older adults should participation in leisure activities to enhance successful aging.
