Abstract
The in vitro effects of low energy He-Ne laser on the motility, velocity, straight-ness and amplitude of lateral head displacement of human sperm were measured by using automated semen analyzer ni a total of 33 ejaculates. No significant difference could be found in all sperm characteristics between semen samples untreated and treated for different irradiation duration (15 sec, 30 sec, 2 min, 4 min and 8 min). There was also no significant change with respect to the percentage of normal forms. The results of out study were contradictory to previous reports which showed a stimu-latory effect of low energy laser on sperm motility or velocity. (J Urol R.O.C., 2:472-476, 1991)
