Abstract
A theoretical analysis is made to investigate the noncondensable gas effect on the performance of a two-phase closed thermosyphon with wall conduction effect considered. It is shown that the diffusion length of the noncondensable gas increases under the influence of the radial diffusion and the wall conduction effects and these effects are governed mainly by four parameters. The conditions for minimizing these effects are also given. © 1991.
