Abstract
The object of the work is to study the effect of self-made TiO2 particles on the performance of the dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Nanoparticles are deposited on the ITO surface to form a layered to be used as photoelectric pole and than soaked the thin film in the dyesensitizer of N719. Finally, analyze the performance of the thin film and measure the electro-optical conversion efficiency.he prepared TiO2 nanoparticles belonged to the high purity anatase crystal with average size less than 100nm. By using fixed drop with simultaneous heat treatment method on the spin platform, the UV/VIS spectrum of TiO2 film shows that the film formed with self-made TiO2 have better absorbance than the thin film formed with Degussa P25. Furthermore, the TiO2 crystal phase in the film is highly anatase still, it means that the process of heat treatment during the film formation dose not change the TiO2 crystal phase. According to the test of electro-optical conversion efficiency, DSSC with the self-made TiO2 could reach efficiency as 2.15%, which is higher than efficiency of DSSC with Degussa P25 as 1.95%. And the thickness corresponding to the highest electro-optical conversion efficiency is 15μm. The overall Fill factor of the DSSC in this procsee is low due to the rough manufacturing processs, and it is worse with the increase of TiO2 thin film thickness.
