Abstract
Countries in the world are promoting energy conservation and reduce carbon emissions policy actively; However, to meet the increasing transportation demand, energy consumption and carbon emissions increase.
Therefore, in this paper, we want to understand whether the energy consumption and carbon emission decreasing can meet the same of travel demand. That is public how to use the mode when reduce energy consumption and carbon emission. We formularize a mathematical programming model for solving the optimal modal split ratio in constraint of conserving energy and reducing carbon emission. Objective function is maximum utility of public using mode. Constraints is conserving energy constraint, reducing carbon emission constraint, and meeting travel demand constraint.
Finally, we apply this model to analyze Miaoli County; This model can solve the optimal modal split ratio in order to conserving energy and reducing carbon emission.
