Abstract
This study presents Green’s functions for a transversely isotropic magnetoelectroelastic layered half-plane subjected to generalized concentrated forces and screw dislocations applied either to the layer or the half-plane. Explicit closed-form solutions of the full fields for the coupled problem are obtained using the Fourier-transform method and the series expansion technique. The complete solutions for this problem include only the simplest solutions obtained from an infinite magnetoelectroelastic medium with generalized concentrated forces and generalized screw dislocations. The solutions include Green’s function for applied loadings in an infinite medium and an infinite number of image singularities are induced to satisfy the boundary and interface conditions. It is shown that the physical meaning of the solution is the image method. The mathematical method used in this study provides an automatic determination for the locations and magnitudes of all image singularities. The closed-form solutions are functions of material properties, the thickness of the layer, the generalized concentrated forces, and screw dislocations. Numerical results for the full-field distributions of stresses, electrical displacements, magnetic inductions, strains, electric fields, and magnetic fields, in the layered half-plane medium are presented and discussed in detail.
