Abstract
In this thesis, a range detection system using frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar is designed at 2.45 GHz. The system consists of low-noise amplifier, local oscillator, mixer and DSP processor. Advanced high-electron-mobility transistors (HEMT) are used in RF
circuit to reduce noise. Specific algorithms are chosen to analyze the echoed signal. Three systems with DSP are proposed to reduce the complexity of the conventional systems. They are simulated with Matlab, and the results matches well with theoretical prediction.
