Abstract
The purpose of this project is to establish a
database from the neurosurgical intensive care
unit (ICU).We try to create a biomedical
simulator by using analysis of these data, and
the clinical correlations .In this year, our study
focused on the relation between heart rate
variability and sympathovagal activity. We
design the device to collect patient vital signs
such as electrocardiogram (EKG), blood
pressure, and ICP. In frequency domain, we
use the fast Fourier transform (FFT) to
analysis power destiny spectrum and heart rate
variability (HRV). In Time domain, we use
Poincare’ Plot which is HRV analysis
technique to display nonlinear aspects of the
interval sequence. Finally, we discussed the
relation between HRV and sympathovagal
activity. Conclusion: The area of Poincare’
plot had positive correlation with the GCS
score. How ever there were no significant
difference between ICP and the area of
Poincare’ Plot.
