Abstract
Library evaluation is to measure how effectively and efficiently a library is meeting its self-identified goals and objectives. Library performance measurement is
helpful for library to acquire funding, to identify library management objectives and
their implementation, as well as the allocation of library manpower, budgets, and
resources. But due to its abstract in theory and complexity in practice, the library is
difficult to implement library performance measurement. It is for this reason, this
study is to discuss the theory and practice of library performance measurement, and
hopefully the conclusion of this study will assist library in its design and
implementation of performance measurement.
