Abstract
LRT(Light rail transit) system originated in tramway which could drive on streets. This right of way could be use flexibility and relatively low cost. In case of financial constraints of the authority, light rail transit system has been a new solution for our traffic problem. Light rail transit system operates with priority signal in intersections. Therefore, it needs to do research for LRT priority signal control and evaluate the impact of road network service capability.
The study propose two indexes which are LRV-Car-affecting-value and LRV-people-affecting-value. In addition, the study considering the characteristics of LRV at intersections and the properties using VISSIM as simulation platform. The result shows that the network cars decline with the B-type LRV and the number of cars in C-type network increase after the system built. However, the travel time of LRV in C-type system increase 60%~100%. The result also revel the most suitable control logic in every type of road geometry.
