Abstract
In the present study, a model to predict the upper and lower bounds for the Poisson's ratio of two-phase composites is proposed. Only the elastic modulus and Poisson's ratio of each component are needed in order to carry out the prediction. Experimental data from other studies were collected and compared with the prediction; reasonable agreement has been found. © 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
