On the Application of Digital Archives

In the competition of global digital economy, it is getting more important to combine technology and cultural contents for Taiwan, as a place where western and eastern culture converged. Various digital archives have been used gradually in the digital content industry. The purpose of this article is to explore the needs of the digital materials and commercialization for both content holders and the industry, and to improve their collaboration of creating value-added products or services. In this research, we surveyed the demands of digital contend industry via visits and focus groups, and analyzed contend holders’ needs and ideas from questionnaires and interviews. Referring to the successful cases worldwide, we then concluded some strategies and suggestions to promote the applications of digital; archives in Taiwan.
