Abstract
The present research explores the operational and economic feasibility of novel heat integration techniques, as well as the rich set of interrelationships between energetic efficiency potentials and the recirculation of latent and sensible heat. It also encapsulates guidelines, challenges and opportunities to enhance profitability by reducing power consumption in high energetic-intensive chemical processes. For this purpose the application of heat pumps, vapor recompression, optimal design of heat exchanger network and self-heat recovery technology have been put into effect. Furthermore, with the fluctuation of oil prices in countries where economic energy sources are unavailable, this investigation provides a useful frame for critical decision making to minimize points of conflict between energy goals, production and revenue.
