Abstract
Taiwanese enterprises are facing unprecedented challenges owing to increasing global competition and lower labor costs from third world countries. Therefore, Taiwanese enterprises are shifting their focuses from labor intensive operation to managing the knowledge which is essential to competing at today’s business environment. Knowledge management will be the key in future corporate development. The importance and implication of knowledge management platform to the learning organization are elaborated in this study. This research investigates the methodology of knowledge management and disscusses the results of implement knowledge management from variance of enterprises. First of all, in this study the learning organization implement of knowledge management has been divided into four stages which are preparation, evaluation, planning and implementation. The stage of preparation is to assess the project feasibility and obtain the management support from top executives. The evaluation stage is assessing the current situation, the organizational structure, and the operation process and the information system. The stage of planning is using the evolution results to develop the knowledge management flow for next stage to implement. The technology of knowledge management platform is taken into consideration in the second place. Knowledge management platform has been divided into three layers: infrastructure layer, user interface layer and application layer. The infrastructure layer contents the hardware and software for platform. The user interface layer is provided for an ease of interaction in process of knowledge management. The application layer is to offer many management tools to aid in the process of knowledge management. Last but not the least, several cases study of knowledge management implement has been conducted for this research, which includes four institutions, ten foreign companies and fourteen domestic companies.
