Abstract
In this study, we use the numerical simulation for the studies of ground vibration mitigation. The finite element program ABAQUS is selected for a plane strain analysis. The road pavements and the Da-Jhou ditch in TSIP are the facilities considered for reducing ground vibration. The results show that the effects of reducing ground vibration are proportional to the stiffness of the mitigation facilities. If we choose the method by using the road pavement, only, to reduce the vibration, the result is limited; if we choose the other one, using the Da-Jhou ditch, we have to increase the stiffness of this ditch to restrict the deformation of the ditch. The main frequency of the high speed train running through TSIP is about 1.5Hz~ 5.5Hz, and the maximum vibration is perpendicular to the direction of the railway. As the result, the best way to reduce the vibration in the perpendicular direction is to use the road pavement followed by the Da-Jhou ditch.
