Abstract
Dental impaction is a pathologic situation in which a tooth cannot erupt into its normal functional position. Although the prevalence of molar impaction is low, it requires early diagnosis and treatment because its presence can be a severe problem within the oral cavity, leading to the loss of periodontal support, dental caries, and impaired masticatory function. This article highlights four treatment approaches for molar impaction with different choices of tooth extraction. They are presented with the records of four patients. These options can serve as guidelines for treating multiple molar impactions. However, clinicians should still consider the advantages and disadvantages of each option and decide which is the most suitable on the basis of individual patient characteristics and expectations.
