Abstract
The Human Genome Project(HGP), a
project mainly conducted by the U.S. and
participated worldwide by highly-developed
countries, will introduce a new technological
revolution in the turn of the century. This
project is endeavored to evaluate all the
impacts of genetic engineering on human
civilization, and then to set ethical principles
for relevant research and applications. The
focus of the first year research is upon the
methodology of ethical thinking. Some recent
approaches concerning foundational theories
are criticized.
