Abstract
A Study on the Mechanism and Device Application of
Electrochromic Materials(1/3)
This project is mainly to develop a
novel all-organic electrochromic device.
Electrodeposition of PMeT in a strong Lewis
acid (BFEE) can yield good quality,
homogeneous, and electroactive PMeT films.
On the basis of the study on PMeT, we can
take it as a good material to be used in
electrochromic devices. Also, PEDOT is a
very good electrochromic material for its
high optical attenuation (△T), long term
stability, and high coloration efficiency.
Combining the two thiophene derivatives
above we have seen the application potential
of this device. Currently, the device PMeT/PEDOT has a stable electrochromic
performance and its maximum optical
attenuation (△T at 655nm) is around 44%.
