Abstract
The rising standards of comfort and well-being in our societies impose challenging requirements on producers and researchers to supply us with such materials and products in the most ecological manner. In the textile industry, the fundamental part of the supply chain originates in the production of fibers and yarns. The long-time consumption of natural fibers is gradually substituted by synthetic, man-made fibers. The relatively new synthetic ecological polypropylene fibers still await to be fully exploited in the global markets. These fibers are therefore the subject-manner of this thesis on the basis of their Slovakian producer Chemosvit Fibrochem a.s.
This study aims to identify the opportunities of international expansion of Chemosvit Fibrochem a.s. and alongside determine new opportunities for demand enhancement of polypropylene fibers in the worldwide markets. The research was based on the framework stated in the literature review, several interviews and questionnaires performed with the representatives of the firm. The insight to synthetic fibers industry and introduction of Chemosvit Fibrochem a.s. seek to provide an overview about the background of this topic. Besides, the micro-analysis of the firm was performed to determine its status and positioning in the industry. Moreover, the analysis of the choice of market was a prerequisite for the ultimate analysis of opportunities for international expansion. Several markets from beforehand prioritized clusters were specified as appropriate opportunity from various points of view. The final analysis of mode of entry identified the resulted opportunities of Chemosvit Fibrochem a.s. for international expansion through the best suited mode of exporting and licensing. The results from mode of entry and choice of market analysis were aggregated whereby they are presented in the conclusions jointly with the discussions of the findings and closing remarks of this thesis.
