Abstract
With the rapid development of wireless network, a lot of related wireless application techniques also have great progress. Positioning is an important application of wireless sensor network, which have extensive range of application in localization. The positioning system of wireless sensor network can be divided into two types; one is motionless object localization and the other is moving object localization. This thesis focuses on the motionless object localization. The motionless object localization mostly refers to the localization of wireless sensor device. It works for the deployment and application of wide range and stochastic wireless sensor network. In this case, it is impossible to find every single sensor device in the network by man. So we first deploy sensor devices in the network and then the sensor device can estimate self-location by exchanging information with other sensor devices. The development of self-localization algorithms can reduce the cost of the sensor network by decreasing the number of expensive instruments needed for estimating the coordinate of each sensor devices; for example, the GPS device. In this thesis we investigate on three positioning algorithms for wireless sensor network. We compare the precision of localization for each algorithms and then we focus on the deployment of anchors. We analyze the relation between the deployment of anchors and the precision of localization.
