Abstract
Benign lesions involving the middle ear and temporal bone occur in one of the most inaccessible areas of the body, surgical approaches to the skull base are difficult, and the risks of neurologic deficit are significant. In this paper, we reported twenty-two patients with benign tumors of temporal bone including congenital cholesteatoma, jugular tumor, acoustic neuroma, facial nerve neuroma, meningioma, and fibrous dysplasia. The literature regarding the temporal bone tumors is reviewed and the clinical symptoms, treatment, and complication of operation are also discussed.
