Abstract
Particles in a two-phase flow may develop into clusters of different sizes. This study aimed to calculate the capacities of particles of different cluster sizes for extracting energy in a two-species suspension flow. The scaled total and rotational energy distributions are found to exhibit the behaviors of self-organized criticality. The organized motion is analyzed by examining individual energy contributions with respect to various parameters: cluster size, particle size ratio, and solid volume fraction.
