Abstract
An ultrawideband common-mode filter (CMF) composed of two mushroom-like stages is proposed. A circuit model is provided. We explain how cascading two mushroom-like stages enhances the bandwidth of the common-mode (CM) stopband. Both circuit and full-wave simulations are conducted, and a wide CM stopband is achieved. The proposed CMF is fabricated on a printed circuit board (PCB) with three metal layers. The measured results show that the CM noise is suppressed over 10 dB from 1.68 GHz to 12.44 GHz, and the fractional bandwidth (FBW) is 152%, which is larger than that of other similar works. ? 2021 IEEE.
