Abstract
Digital Libraries and Museum (DL/M) have become one of the important researches issues of
Library and Information Science as well as other related fields. This paper describes the
basic concepts of DL/M and briefly introduces the development of Taiwan Digital Museum
Project. Then, we discuss how to maintain, to manage and to exchange metadata, especially,
from the viewpoint of users and collection features. We propose the draft of metadata, MICI
(Metadata Interchange for Chinese Information), developed by ROSS (Resources
Organization and Searching Specification) team. Finally, the current problems and future
development of metadata will be touched .
