Abstract
Internet multimedia streaming becomes popular in recent years. There are many famous applications, such as YouTube, ImTV, and Google Video. Besides, the VoD services supplied by ISP’s are also widely used. But these applications use the traditional broadcast, the number of membership are restricted by computation power and bandwidth. There are many peer-to-peer multimedia streaming researches recently, and some applications are on-lined. For example, there are PPStream, PPLive, TVAnts, and SopCast. But all these applications and protocols lack for membership management and stream protection. This thesis propose a new multimedia streaming protocol on overlay multicast network.
