Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine
the effect of estradiol and testosterone on
progesterone production from caprine follicle
cells in vitro culture system. The data
demonstrated that estradiol could act directly
on follicle cell to reduce the secretion of
progesterone and expression of P450scc
enzyme, and testosterone also could decreases
progesterone production in basal and
oLH-treated groups. This results implied that
the interaction of estradiol and testosterone
may play important roles in regulating the
steroidogenesis of follicle cell, thus,
determining the life span of the follicle.
