Abstract
When we are moving to the next generation All-IP environment, the issue of integrating WWAN and WLAN appears. In heterogeneous network integration, handover will be used. What is called having the ability of handover between WWAN and WLAN means a mobile device can move freely between different type of network and still satisfy the QoS (quality of service) requirement of various applications. In order to achieve the goal of seamless handover and connection continuity, this paper proposes an adaptive network protocol to handle the changes in the connection status of mobile devices in an End-to-End manner. By complying with End-to-End principle, no intermediate agents or gateways are involved, but still achieve the purpose of seamless handover between WLAN and WWAN.
