Abstract
Polynorbornenes with allylic acetoxy terminus are obtained by ring‐opening metathesis polymerization of the norbornene derivatives followed by quenching with 1,4‐diacetoxy‐2 Z ‐butene. Treatment of these polymers with a range of nucleophiles in the presence of a Pd‐catalyst gives the corresponding polynorbornenes bearing different end groups. The same protocol is used to modify the end groups of polymeric ladderphanes. Incorporation of an end‐group‐modified polynorbornene on indium tin oxide (ITO) surface perturbs the electrochemical properties of the ITO electrode. image
