Abstract
In this paper, the theory and applications of acousto-optic devices is studied. A couple wave analysis for the acousto-optic interaction in an isotropic and an anisotropic medium are presented. Finally, we propose the optimum design process to be reference.
By using Gaussian beam waist diameter and suitable acousto-optic materials for wavelength 1.064 and 0.6328 um, determined AO device’s length and height by designing equations, and then determined bandwidth and diffraction efficiency. We will understand the relationship of AO device’s length, height, bandwidth and diffraction efficiency.
