Abstract
Dual-Core Self-Centering Brace (DC-SCB) in past tests has proved have good Self-Centering capability, and a theory can accurately predict axial behavior. For the first time, This study use two DC-SCBs in a two-story frame to do the test. During 7 tests, DC-SCBF has no failure, beam end did not buckle. Maximum residual deformation of 7 tests is 0.15% of 2nd floor drift. This study also use finite element program ABAQUS to do finite element analyses for the specimen. Analyses result shows about 5% error in maximum force and 10% error in residual deformation from the test. ABAQUS model can accurately simulate DC-SCB behaviors.
