Abstract
Time-resolved second-harmonic generation was used to generate and detect coherent LO phonons in semiconductor heterojunctions. Three coherent LOGaAs, LOGaAs-like, and LOAlAs-like phonons were launched by transiently screening the depletion field in the GaAs/AlxGa1-x interfacial region. © 2003 IEEE.
