Abstract
Mixed metal oxides in Bi-Ca-Sr-Cu-O with the nominal composition Bi2CaSr2Cu2O6 have been prepared by quenching the solid-state-reaction sinteed specimens with liquid nitrogen. Resistivity and magnetization data show a superconducting transition of 90-100 K. On the basis of transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS) and convergent beam electron diffraction (CBED) analyses, the 90-100 K superconducting phase in the system Bi-Ca-Sr-Cu-O was found to be of orthorhombic structure (a=0.540 nm, b=2.689 nm, c=3.040 nm) with a lattice of mm2 symmetry. © 1988.
