Chemotherapy of Gastric Cancer with Complete Endoscopic Remission: Report of a Case

Abstract
Abstract: We report on a case of a 31‐year‐old male patient who had advanced gastric cancer with distant lymph node and liver metastasis. A panendoscopy revealed a huge Borrmann's type III advanced gastric cancer involving the esophago‐cardiac junction, cardia, fundus, body, angle and part of the antrum. After 2 courses of VP‐16, adriamycin, cisplatin (EAP), a 4 cm diameter benign looking ulcer was noted at the lesser curvature side of the high to mid‐body. After 4 courses of EAP, a long linear scar was noted at the cardia to low body, while the biopsy revealed only chronic inflammation. A follow‐up abdominal echo and CT scans indicated a complete disappearance of liver metastasis and lymphadenopathy. Although recurrence was noted 2 months later, the new chemotherapy protocol provides a promising treatment for unresectable gastric cancer.
