Abstract
A UWB planar trapezoidal dipole antenna with a simple feeding structure is proposed. In our design, the printed asymmetric dipole antenna is center-fed by a transmission line which consists of two parallel strip lines. The two arms of the dipole with two parallel feeding lines are separately printed on the opposite sides of the FR4 substrate. The proposed antenna, which can cover the frequency range of 3.1~10.6GHz with return loss level of 10dB, has almost omni-directional radiation patterns and gain flatness property within the entire UWB frequency band.
