Abstract
In this paper, we report a cardiac-and-piezoelectric hybrid system that uses a flexible piezoelectric sensor to measure the contraction profile of cardiac tissue cultured on its surface. This system is based on a cardiac-and-piezoelectric hybrid platform that we developed and reported previously. In this study, we integrate an electrical stimulating system to facilitate the maturation of cultured cardiomyocyte. Furthermore, a faraday cage was designed to minimize the electromagnetic interference for enhancing signal output. Finally, we verify the performance of this system by using a commercial drug: Isoproterenol, and the screening result showed similar range of EC50 value. Copyright ?
