Abstract
There are some advantages of utilizing ultrasonic atomization system such as small size of humidifier, average and intensive humidification, and easily access of water refilling. This study has developed a unique ultrasonic atomization humidification system, including reactant gas heater, power ultrasonic atomizer and ultrasonic humidifier. When reactant gas has obtained sufficient heat content and has entered humidifier, heat exchange between reactant gas and droplet will take place. Next, reactant gas will mix with vapor after droplet transfers to vapor so that humidification will be achieved, and relative humidity will be obviously enhanced. Mainly, there are two functions of ultrasonic atomization humidification system. First, in order to actively adjust reactant gas relative humidity, we adjust atomization rate by changing drive voltage of humidifier. Second, this system is able to alter resonant frequency of PZT. The higher the frequency, the smaller the droplet''s mean diameter while smaller diameter can raise the efficiency of humidification. At least 90 percent of relative humidity can be maintained under the condition that the flow rate of anode and cathode''s reactant gas is restrict to 1LPM to 25LPM. In order to actively control PEMFC’s humidification of cathode/anode to be a optimal value, we can adjust atomization rate of humidifier, and then the best performance of PEMFC achieved.
