Abstract
A simple approach that can be used to create the optical anisotropy of CdSe quantum dots by coupling to the surface plasmon resonance of gold nanorods grating has been demonstrated. The well-aligned gold nanorods grating was fabricated by micropatterning technique. It is found that the dominant factor for the occurrence of optical anisotropy can be attributed to well-aligned gold nanorods, anisotropic properties of gold nanorods, and the resonant coupling between exciton and surface plasmon eigenmode. Our approach opens up a new possibility for the creation of polarization-dependent optoelectronic devices based on semiconductor quantum dots.
