Abstract
The fungal family Diatrypaceae belongs to the class Pyrenomycetes of the phylum Ascomycota, featuring carbonaceous stromata, perithecial ascomata, and sausage-shaped ascospores. This study is to investigate the species diversity of Diatrypaceae in Taiwan. Identification of these fungi was carried out by using teleomorphic traits as well as cultural and anamorphic traits. Besides, ITS sequences were obtained to help reconfirm the identities of certain studied species. This study contains 30 species; 15 of these appear hitherto undescribed. Totally, 30 species are reported herein, including ten species of Diatrype—D. chlorosarca,D. enteroxantha,D. hypoxantha, D. microstroma, D. mindanaensis, D. cf. stigmaoides, D. sp. 1, D. sp. 2, D. sp. 3, and D. sp. 4; two of Diatrypella—Dl. favacea and Dl. psidii; seven of Eutypa—E. capparidis, E. limiformis, E. sp. 1, E. sp. 2, E. sp. 3, E. sp. 4, E. sp. 5; eleven of Eutypella—El. aulacostroma, “Peroneutypa” bellula, El. curvispora, El. gliricidiae, El. scoparia, El. sp. 1, El. sp. 2, El. sp. 3, El. sp. 4, El. sp. 5, and El. sp. 6.
