Abstract
With the advances of information technology and the pervasion of broadband internet, the era of multimedia over internet has officially arrived. All kinds of digital applications are flourishing over the internet, such as digital TV, online photo albums, blogs and video blogs. Amongst all these fast-blooming favorites, video blogs are probably the most attention-grabbing ones. The combination of broadband internet and video sharing platforms brings us new great conveniences in our lives. The number of choices of TV channels is now in the hundreds. All Channels are showing sports games, movies, concerts 24/7. We are, however, not able to cope up with all our favorite shows. Therefore along came our idea: we wish to make some improvements and evolutions to make a more convenient, cheaper, and friendlier environment for internet users according to their habits of TV usage. “Delayed Live” is the result of our vision. These two contradictory words came together because we created an environment for people to view live shows on their hand-held devices or other internet-connected devices, without any television signal. The shows could be the Super Bowl, a concert at the Radio City, or other live broadcast. The delay will only be about 5 to 10 minutes, fairly within acceptable range.
