Abstract
The farm scale biogas bio-filter system (BBS) is serially developed by enrichment and isolation of sulfide-oxidizing bacteria, pilot scale bio-filter reactor establishment and testing, as well as farm scale bio-filter facility establishment and testing for more than 3 yrs. Sulfide dioxide emission is also monitored in three commercial pig farms which utilize two types of biogas, either bio-desulfurized or un-desulfurized. Demonstration of farm scale BBS facilities is carried out on a 25000-head commercial pig farm which was selected as an official demonstration site for biogas power generation in 2015 by Bureau of Energy, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan. Furthermore, this farm-scale BBS with three patents was conferred an award at the 7th National Innovation Award, Taiwan in 2010. ? 2017 Taylor & Francis Group, London, UK. All rights reserved.
