Abstract
The optical properties and chemical durability of lead-indium-aluminum phosphate glass prepared by a wetchemical process have been investigated. Ultraviolet-visible and infrared spectra were recorded for the glass. The refraction index of the glass was measured as a function of wavelength in the visible region of the spectrum. The long-term chemical durability of the glass in acidic and basic aqueous solutions was examined at a high temperature. The results are compared with recent data for other phosphate glasses, and indicate that lead-indium-aluminum phosphate glass has a promising combination of good optical properties and chemical durability. © 1993.
