Abstract
In the project of this year, we derive the
relationship between the root mean square delay spread
and the parameters of the Saleh-Vanezuela (S-V) indoor
channel model. To describe a multipath component
we propose a vector wideband indoor channel model.
The model includes the parameters of angle of
departure (AOD), angle of arrival (AOA) as well as the
path amplitude and time delay. Given the distributions
of AOD and AOA we can randomly generate delay
profiles using the S-V model. From the associated AOD
and AOA of each multipath component we can study
the effect of antenna pattern, multiple antenna elements
or blockage loss on channel characteristics and the
transmission performance of a WLAN system. We also
experimentally study the effect of directive antenna and
human blockage on 60GHz indoor channel
characteristics. From the channel measurement data,
we discuss their effect on the WLAN transmission
performance and evaluate the cell coverage.
