Abstract
The artificial photosynthesis is one of the best processes to reduce CO2 in the atmosphere as well as to develop renewable energy. A series of Cu/TiO2 were prepared by a modified so-gel methods. Methanol was generated by the photocatalytic reduction of CO2. The maximum methanol yield reached 1000 µmole/g-catal under 28 hours UVC (254 nm) irradiation using 2wt% Cu/TiO2 by CuCl2-1h and CuCl2-3h methods. The Cu+ was the major species on the Cu/TiO2 though multiple chemical status of Cu existed.
