Abstract
This paper proposed a balanced antipodal Vivaldi antenna (BAVA), which improved the squinted radiation patterns of BAVA and retaining its cross-polarization levels. We asymmetric discarding the substrate between the metal fins to adjust the beam direction making the beam squint smaller, and etched some slots on both fins to extend the lower-end bandwidth and improve the radiation directivity. The proposed design operates over 19-84GHz with return loss < -10dB and present a maximum gain of 13.09 dB at 48GHz. Numerical assessments to validate the proposed antenna design are conducted. ? 2021 Taiwan Microwave Association.
